Never painted anything Star Wars related, or at least I can't recall I have. So here is something made to look like one of those sci-fi novels from the 70's.

Listening to Fink makes me wander away and I can’t help butpaint some westerns. This time, I tried to get every stroke right with aslittle effort as possible. I used the bulky square brush and I tried to createeverything from head. That way, I might push myself into exploring new colours.

Hey folks.
Lately, I have been trying to push myself into uncharted territories because I felt like I need more richness in my stuff. So, I've decided to try some of those Mullins techniques with an abstract texture as a starting point and then trying to sculpt something out of it.
This is the first result and I think I'll use this method more often.

Three years ago, I was given a chance to step into the shoes of my art heroes and to try to do their work justice. The weight of the 70 year old legacy and the pressure of millions of loyal fans worldwide was daunting but, luckily, I was surrounded by some of the most talented and skilled people in the games industry who helped me along the way.I am so incredibly proud of what we did and I hope that people will see how much love and care went into making every detail of this game.Much love,KanP. A crippled dragon is left with no choice but to steal cattle from villagers. Crippled 'cause I was stupid and didn't plan to make wings while sketching. And the one he has could never support the weight of his body. But anyway...
I just had a few hours and the TV offered no entertainment.

Future Proof: the portrait of the big city solitude

London is a moody place to be in the morning. I am lucky to live near my studio, so I walk to work every day. The narrow streets are packed with people who try to make their way, moving between long lines of cars. The atmosphere can be very hectic and tense, even in the early morning hours. The poluted air creates thick layers of haze between me and the towering buildings of the business distict of the big city.
The scene before me is beautiful and unsettling at the same time. And for some reason, that very song by Massive Attack echoes in my ears while I walked down the road.
Now, looking at the final piece, you probably wonder what does that have to do with the girl, attached to a robot. Well, I have scanned all the little sketches that might display the thought process behind it. My main goal was to try and bring some of that misty feeling of big city's solitude. I started by sketching some of my neighbourhood shops and people and developed the idea further to the final sketch. Although the initial inspiration came from exterior, I thought that it would be nice to go inside of the lonely, desolate apartments and sympathise with one of the inhabitants of this modern, near-future, world.
The technical aspects were pretty straight forward. Once I had the sketch I liked, I went to Painter and started slapping paint around, keeping things smooth and juicy.
This piece was done for Gorilla Artfare 3rd anniversary. The idea behind it was to illustrate one of our favorite songs. Mine was 'Future Proof' by Massive Attack.
I really hope you like it.

Pencil nostalgia

This was one of these rare moments where I had enough time and patience to sit down and slowly pencil out something I would normally do digitally. I hardly ever touch pencils unless I am at the life drawing class and that, quite frankly, is kind of sad.
Why is it that nowadays everything has to be fully rendered in color? Concept artists and illustrators used pencils, charcoals and other simple mediums for a long time and you know what, they did much better than all that Photoshop crap you see on the net now.
What are your thoughts about this, guys?

I was asked a few times about how I used the smudge tool on this image. Actually, this was all done with Painter’s Oils, which smudge the paint as you move it across the canvas.

Last Friday, my dear friends Jelena and Marko Djurdjevic opened doors of their brand new studio SIXMOREVODKA with lots of.. Well, lots of Vodka.
The opening party was a blast. Some of the industry finest were there: Esad Ribic, Nic Klein, J. S. Rossbach, Coro, Carl Dobsky, Nox, Andrew Jones.. You name it.

I feel extremely privileged to have been there, and to have had the honour and pleasure of meeting all of these friendly and smart individuals.
